December in London
I've travelled back to the farm for xmas, leaving London behind for the remainder of the year. December marks the start of the period when everything quiets down on the work front. Projects i'm involved in have drawn down for the year and everyone involved, including myself, goes back to spend time with friends and family.
It's also a time to reflect on how things have gone for the year, it's been good and interesting being in London full time again, and large parts of next year will be focused on building on the work and relationships that I have built up over this year past.
In part, the slow down of projects has brought a welcome break and a chance to get to do things in London again. There where also a chance to get along to various events that where organised by the various networks I'm part of. Dark Mountain had a very interesting meet up in Early December and it was a great chance to catch up on the conversations coming out of that. I've also had a chance to go along to more of Vinays Truth and Beauty events at Hub Westminster, including a very interesting (and long) talk on everything to do with rockets and space programmes.
Also there where project associated events. West Norwood Feast had Christmas Lights and a night market alongside the usual feast, and Makerhood put on their (what will now surly become) their annual Xmas social and card making event.
January can be a slow start to the year, there is already a lot of work building up for me (surprisingly!). This December has taught me that the one of the things I want to make sure I keep doing is make time for the things that go on in London, getting out of the house or workplaces more and enjoy being down there.
Merry Christmas everyone!
